The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives paid a surprise visit to the Branch Law Firm today, August 3rd, 2010, sitting and visiting with the attorneys and the staff. Turner and Margaret Branch have been close friends with Speaker Pelosi for a very long time, in fact, before she was a Congresswoman. Turner said, “We have been friends a long time and we are honored that she would spend such a long time visiting with us… [She] was, as always, gracious, kind, and informative.” Margaret Branch was also grateful for the visit and said, “We talked about the gridlock in Congress and the upcoming November election. We want a positive outcome for all the Democratic incumbents. It is wonderful to call the Speaker of the House a close friend and I am always happy to see her. I wish we could spend more time together… her visit was very meaningful to me and I think of the Speaker as not only a good friend, but a very good friend.”
